Simple Elegance

The Moxie Fabworld Tuesday trigger is Simple Elegance:

When I saw that carpet knew I had to use the paper from Fabscraps . . . ended up with one of their diecuts - so elegant! My eye was taken with the molding, pink shawl, flowers and touch of green.
And I'll also enter it for Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything goes!

Fabulous Flowers 3

On a roll with the Fabscrap Flowers for the Lilypad Simon Says Flower Challenge. This time using a Club Scrap sentiment, the Hero Arts Ribbon stamp as a stem and some inked twine.

Fabulous Flowers 2

On a roll with the Fabscrap Flowers for the Lilypad Simon Says Flower Challenge. This time adding May Arts ribbon with Hero Arts sentiment.

Fabulous Flowers 1

The Lily Pad Simon Says challenge is flowers, and I've just got the new Fabscrap flowers, so I thought I'd put those 2 together. Add the Hero Arts zigzag ribbon stamp and some twine and pearls.

Jewelry Box

When I saw the latest Fabscrap papers, I knew I'd use it on my jewelry box . . . unicorn's are on my family crest, and the swan . . . sigh!!!

I crackled paint first, tore the papers, distressed the edges, stamped here and there, added stickers, pearls, gems and metal elements as well as Fabscrap butterfly diecuts. Here's the view of the top.
And the inside is also crackled. Used felt for the bottoms.
I have entered it in the Fabscraps competition, and I need "likes", so if you do indeed like it, please support me here. Thanks.

Freshly Made Sketches #25

Freshly Made Sketches #25

I wanted to try this with one layer, so I masked the spring picture before stamping the text. Made slits for the ribbon and thread it through.

Butterfly Joy

Having being totally inspired by the Mondocherry ladies, I just had to make myself a butterfly wall mount. (Can this be a Mother's Day present to myself?!) A perfect opportunity to try our Shari Carroll's velveteen technique. So you start with this (plus Distress Ink Pumice Stone, patterned paper in brown and green, and white cardstock - sorry, forgot to put everything there in my excitement!) :

And you get this :
I made 2" squares which I stamped the script in Distress Pumice Stone. These are mounted on double sided foam. The bottom layer of butterflies (brown) and second layer (green) were cut out with the silhouette using Fabscraps paper. But I wanted to create my own paper pattern for the butterflies, so using Shari's technique I stamped three A5 sheets of cardstock, then cut out the butterflies on my silhouette. Just wonderful as you can make each layer just that little bit smaller than the one below it. Then I decorated the butterflies with May Arts silver white thread, Hero Arts pearls or gems.

Here is a close up of the velveteen effect.

And here it is framed :

Less is More - Week 57

Neutrals for Less is More & triple butterflies inspired by the 3 ladies of Mondocherry. I love their wall mounts, and I'm going to make a bigger version of this for a wall mount.

CAS design

Loving CAS (clean and simple)!
Even with distress stains. And you can always match your ribbon.

Van Gogh Sky

On a roll with stamp kissing! This time I stamp kissed TWICE!. First stamp kissed the envelope pattern to the clouds, then the clouds to the silhouette flowers.

Made me think of Van Gogh's Starry starry night! When you use 2 rather solid stamps to stamp kiss, they smooch quite a bit.

Colourful Stamp Kissing

Stamp kissed the Hero Arts silhouette flowers (white ink, but could also use Versamark) with the clouds (Colorbox Sky Blue). Embossed Clear. Flowers coloured with Prismacolour crayons.
Snipped the green paper to make grass.

Punched Stamp kissing

Was playing around with stamp kissing for the Lily Pad Challenge

Started with the silhouette flowers and the envelope pattern from Hero Arts. Stamp kissed the silhouette flowers (white ink, but could also use Versamark) with the envelope pattern (Colorbox Midnight blue). Embossed Clear. Flowers coloured with Distress stains (Dusty concord, worn lipstick, milled lavender).
Punched out to change the shape.

Patchwork Take 2

I think I got so carried away with all the bits left over, I couldn't stop. The stamp is also Magenta.

Patchwork Card

I'm combining 2 challenges here : Magenta Patchwork and Less is More Neutral colours. Thanks for all the inspiration from the design teams!

Inspired by Mandi's creation

Using the left over pieces from my scrapbook layout.

Patchwork Layout

When I first read that Magenta was having a "Patchwork" Challenge for their 20th Anniversary, I was not at all interested. Then I scrolled down and saw what their design team came up with, and I was keen as a bean to give it a go!

I was also inspired by this posted on Moxie Fab World :

This is the first page for My everyday wonderful life Album.
